Oceanside, CA (July 7, 2020) - Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside (BGCO) has received a $7,500 grant from San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) to support their STREAMing Ahead program during the summer months. During the temporary Club closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, BGCO continued to provide exciting, virtual STREAM (Science, Technology, Research, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) enrichment to underserved youth each day.
OCEANSIDE, CA – The Oceanside Chamber, the Vista Chamber and the San Diego North Economic Development Council have been working hard to both feed families across the county and support our local restaurants. The North County Cares program launched last month, with a generous donation of $50,000 from Genentech. With the funds, the Oceanside Chamber and the Vista Chamber will ultimately serve an estimated 1,650 local families and benefit 30 - 35 restaurants each in both Oceanside and Vista.

Oceanside, CA--The North County Transit District (NCTD) will implement schedule changes for BREEZE fixed-route bus service effective Sunday, July 12, 2020. The service changes are designed to improve efficiency on some routes for better connectivity to the SPRINTER and COASTER schedule and adding service and more bus options for passengers during school bell times.

San Juan Capistrano, CA – U.S. Representative Mike Levin (D-CA) released a report today by his San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) Task Force, which includes proposals from local stakeholders and experts to improve safety at the San Onofre facility and remove the spent nuclear fuel from the region. Rep. Levin formed the Task Force during his first month in office with the goal of driving solutions to move and safely store sensitive waste located at San Onofre. He appointed Rear Admiral Leendert “Len” Hering Sr., USN (Ret.) and former U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Chairman Gregory Jaczko to lead the Task Force as co-chairs.
